On the 1 October 2019, the Angolan VAT Law became effective, replacing the previous Consumption Tax Act. The VAT Law was initially proposed to commence on 1 January 2019 but was postponed twice to 1 July 2019 and to 1 October 2019.
The VAT rate is 14% with a zero-rate on certain goods.
